ASH Wednesday ..... Start of Lentern Journey

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday for all Catholics. It is the start of the lentern journey (40 days) before Good Friday, the cruixifixian of Christ and then the grand celebration of the Risen Lord on Easter Sunday.

Ash Wednesday is celebrated by Catholics all around the world with the traditional imposition of ashes on their forehead as a sober reminder of mortality ..... that we will one day need to leave this world to meet our Creator. In other words, it calls for conversion and repentance - hurry up, change ourselves. What is it that we do not like about ourselves? Is it our physical look? Is it some character flaws that we need to change or any bad relationship or decisions that we need to change.

Real conversion is not about having the fear of death. Real conversion comes from knowing who God is and who we are to HIM. It is all about how do we recognize the God that loves us and about experiencing his love so that I will come to know that I am lovable and can love him in return and how to live a wholesome way.

If I can't love myself, I will then not be able to withstand what the world hurls at me. The Lent Season is a journey of the passion of Jesus - our God is real; have faith and hope in HIM!
