Many things have happened in the last 2 months and recent 2 weeks.
Was really caught up with work in School, busy with finding placement for students who will be going out for their industrial attachment soon on 3 March 2008 till 9 August 2008. For 6 months, I will not be seeing these kids around ........ but I really look forward to them coming back after their 6 months of training. Many a times, as a member of the interview panel, I usually see a great change in them - in terms of thoughts, maturity and outlook of life. This I guess is the most satisfying to any lecturer. Though it was tough to look for placement and having to face the many nasty comments sometimes from the industrialists, the effort is all worth it when you see these students returning with great transformation.
It always saddens me when I had to face disappointed students who do not make it to the 6 months industrial attachment program. My encouragement to them is always such that going for 8 weeks of Industrial Training Program is just as good. Both programs allow students to expose themselves to the real working world and there is always value to be learn out of it if students maintain a positive attitude towards such programs.
Then, there were 3 recruitment drives that I organized for my Division for the students from the Diploma Courses of Real Estate Business and Facility Management for Business.
Thereafter, followed by a monopoly challenge (an enrichment program; also a signature program) for my Division ..........
Next, we were all so caught up with Open House and JAE couselling activities as the 'O' level results were released on the 24 Jan 08.
So much, so much, so much to do but at the end you know that it is for a good cause. Things that you do that may just change the lives of someone out there.
I still have stack of assignment to be marked and revised syllabus to prepare by 31 Jan 08 which I have not completed. Nevermind, one step at a time.
